Team Member Spotlight | Alana Grant

In August 2024, Alana Grant joined Sope as a Technology Consultant. Since then, her solutions are now found inside hundreds of Microsoft 365 environments at some of Australia's most recognisable businesses.

A monster of a role that needs a technical wizard, and Alana ticks all the boxes for our Sope Modern Workplace practice.

Alana's stellar career so far also takes in the likes of the Victorian Department of Health - covering technology-first solutions, from analysis and digital workplace enablement to customer support and adoption.

Alana is also a certified Cybersecurity professional, so you can imagine the mad skills in her swag.

Instead, I’ll be asking questions that have nothing to do with any of the above so we can get to know the legend behind the LinkedIn profile.

Any Netflix Recommendations?

At the moment, definitely Rick and Morty. Chaotic, ridiculous, and somehow still genius.

What do you think about when you’re stuck in traffic?

Usually about drinking margaritas on a private island somewhere far away from the Monash Freeway.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I’m a little bit obsessed with Harry Potter, so realistically… probably a witch.

Apart from your complete dedication to Sope, what do you like to do in your free time?

A lot of video gaming lately. Currently spending time playing Soulmask. It is excellent.

What is your go-to Uber Eats order?

Thai food, without hesitation. Usually Pad See Ew. Reliable, elite, no notes.

‍

What motivates you to get up in the morning and help people to achieve more, together?

I’m motivated by feeling like the work I do actually helps people. I really enjoy solving problems and finding ways to make things run smoother, especially when it helps a team feel more supported and successful.

Related, what inspires you most in your personal life?

Honestly, a lot of what inspires me comes from the people around me, friends, family, and colleagues who are kind, driven, and willing to support others.

I really value connection and shared experiences, and I’m inspired by seeing people work through challenges and continue growing.

I also enjoy creative outlets and experiences that help me slow down and appreciate life outside of work.

You wake up tomorrow and win $30 Million. Where are you going and what are you buying?

I’d start with a big trip through Europe and Japan. Good food, great scenery, and absolutely no work notifications.
After that, I’d probably buy a farm in Tasmania.

What’s the #1 luxury item in your dream home?

Either a miniature Highland cow wandering around the property, or a brand new high-end PC setup. Honestly, both feel equally essential.

‍

What’s your family like?

We’re the kind of family that shows love through fun facts, food, and sending each other terrible memes. It’s never quiet, but it’s always supportive.

Finally, and probably the most important question... What do you think of clowns?

Not a fun time.
